At Deezy Does It we are going to start a Monday inspiration post.  Today we are doing all things vinyl with Teacher Appreciation and Mother's Day in mind.

My son is in the first grade this year and given the year we have had, he wanted to gift his teachers with something very special.  It's been a rough year.  Never in a million years did I ever think we would be dealing with the "bullying" topic at such a young age.  After countless meetings with teachers, school's staff and even the nurse we believe we have reached a common ground.  Anyways, back to the inspiration part.

I have braved my way into vinyl cutting with my new machine.  I mean the old machine does ok when it comes to cutting, it's just those intricate cuts that always seem to put it in the back-burner.  I am the savvy owner of a silhouette cameo cutting machine.  Let me tell you that when it comes to intricate, this machine knows it well.

When an internet friend created the "I teach...." file and shared I knew this is what my son would love and saw as special for his teachers.

After delivering the goodies and having the teachers love them a friend, who has a niece graduating from ECU this year, ordered one from me.  Of course, it needed to be purple and gold as those are the schools colors.

Moving on to Mother's Day.  What do you get a mother who has everything and lives far away?  How about a sentimental gift from Father and Son to my husband's mom?
Again, a friend shared the file created and this time I put a twist in it.  I only had the quote to go with and decided to have my husband and my son place a hand print on the tile as well.

After this picture was taken we added my husband and my son's name to each of the hand prints and on the bottom right corner added the year.

I just hope it makes the journey to Ohio.  Once there is confirmation it has, I will ship out my parents to Puerto Rico.  In this case it has my hand print and of course its in pink :-).

Thank you for stopping by today!

Thank you to all the Happy Silhouette group members on facebook where so much inspiration is shared as well as advice and so much help is given especially to a novice like me.
